As many as 97 pending cases involving murder and other serious offences have been recalled from the court of Additional District & Sessions Judge Ravi Kumar Diwakar in Muzaffarnagar after he awarded 22 death sentences in 10 cases within four months.
The cases were recalled through an administrative order issued by Muzaffarnagar District & Sessions Judge Virendra Kumar Singh, who will now deal with the matters. The order does not specify any reason for the recall.
